About Me
My name is Charles J Tan. Before I ever picked up a camera, I was a touring musician, singer-songwriter and sync licensing professional — spending years learning how a chord change, a held breath, or a cut on the beat can move a room. That instinct for rhythm, tension drives everything I create.
The name Evolving Chaos comes from a line I once read: 'leave chaos as is, but cause it to evolve'.
Not control, no flattening, let it stay alive. Help it find the shape it's trying to become. That's the approach I bring to every project.
That instinct didn't come from one culture or one language. Growing up between Singapore and Melbourne, moving between languages and audiences, I learned early to read a room before I understood every word in it — to sense what people actually need, not just what they say. I'm not just pointing a camera, I'm paying attention.
Documentary, brand story, podcast, or live event —I help you find the story that's already there.
